Bernard M. Campbell, Jr. 85, of Southborough, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Safford) Campbell for the past 58 years.
Born in Syracuse, NY, and raised in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Myrtle (Ferguson) and Bernard M. Campbell.
Bernie was a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institution and earned his master’s degree in mechanical engineering at Leigh University.  He was  US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict with the rank of Corporal .  Bernie worked for Ingersoll Rand of NJ and Bay State Abrasives of Westborough before joining Raytheon of Wayland, where he retired from some years ago.  He was a long time member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Mark Campbell and his wife Ann of Worcester; Stephen Campbell of Lowell; Cynthia Burkett of Lowell; and 7 grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date.
