Donald Croatti Obituary

Donald J. Croatti, 84, of Southborough, died on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick after a battle with cancer.

He was the devoted husband of Mary Ann (Alberti) Croatti for the past 64 years.

Don was a graduate of Framingham High School, class of ’52 and earned a bachelor’s degree at his beloved Boston College in 1960.  He was also a four year veteran of the US Coast Guard serving in the Korean War. Don dedicated himself to Framingham town government serving as its treasurer/collector for 21 years, and he was also a member of the planning board, board of assessors, and was a registrar of voters. In addition Don worked  for the State Auditor’s office.  He was a member of many organizations among them were, former President of the Mass Chapter, National Italian/American Sports Hall of Fame; Fraternal order of the Eagles; Christopher Columbus Society; co-chairman of BC Touchdown Club; former President of BC Varsity Club; and BC Hall of Fame Selection Committee and Dinner Committee.  In 2011 he was inducted in to the BC Varsity Club Sports Hall of Fame and received the Donlon Award. However, Don’s greatest joy was his family.

  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Pamela Bishop and her husband Jeffrey; Robert Croatti and  daughter in law, Ann Croatti all of Southborough; 4 grandchildren, Nicole and Daniel Bishop; Michael Croatti and his wife Jessica; Keriann Reddington and her husband Jozef ; his great grandchildren, Cayson and Reagan; and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth (Cevoli) Croatti; and all his siblings, Louis, Robert, and Edward Croatti, Wanda Rando, Nellie Ellsworth and Mary P. Cole.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 18, from 4 to 7pm at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 10 am at St Matthews Church, 26 Highland Street, Southborough.
