Richard Houston Obituary

 

Richard 'Dick' Houston, 86, of Southborough, passed away on Friday evening, September 17, 2021 after being suddenly stricken ill at home.

He was the beloved husband of Bette (Malcomb) Houston for 66 years.  Born in Providence, RI, Dick was the son of the late Margaret (Brown) and Bradley Houston.
He was a graduate of Westborough High and UMass Stockbridge- School of Agriculture.
Over the years Dick ran greenhouses supplying local flower growers and had a landscaping business. He was a heavy equipment operator before becoming the warehouse manager at R.E. Jarvis, then later at Crandall Hicks. Dick was a 3rd degree Mason, loved watching the Patriots and traveling the local roads in his 1929 Model A.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Brian Houston and his wife, Cynthia of Hudson; Amy Satterfield and her husband, Donald of Hopkinton; his brother, Dr. David Houston of VT; his sister-in-law, Linda Houston of OH; his grandchildren, Laura DiLillo and her husband Jack; Ben Houston; Kate Satterfield and Chris Satterfield; and many nieces and nephews.

A private Funeral will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contributions may be made in Dick's memory to University of Massachusetts Stockbridge School of Agriculture , 161 Holdsworth Way, Amherst, MA, 01003-9286 or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the care of the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.
