Dale A. Mathes

Dale A. Mathes, 79, of Southborough, died Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by his family.

He was the son of the late John and Barbara (Lincoln) Mathes and the husband of Ann (Petrie) Mathes, who were married for 59 years. He was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Reinhold.

Dale was born in Dexter ME in 1944 and grew up in Natick MA. He moved to Southborough in 1965 shortly after getting married. He owned and operated 2 gas stations in Framingham MA. From there he worked for the Ahlquist Agency in Boston MA and Libby’s Liquor Store in Cambridge MA. He finished his working career at ADESA in Framingham MA.

Besides his wife Ann, Dale is survived by his children, John Mathes and his wife Kelley of Vernon CT, Amy Maguire and her husband Robert of Kailua Kona HI, David Mathes and his wife Wendy of Cary NC and Julie Alexander and her husband Kevin of Grafton MA. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Mathes and his wife Joan, his sister, Joan Mathes and his grandchildren, Hannah Martin, Daniel Mathes, Rachel Mathes, Erin Maguire, Ryan Mathes, Kara Mathes, Jake Alexander and Colin Alexander.

A private service for Dale will be held by his family.
