Elsie-Joan (Norcross) Lilley, 87, of Southboro, passed away on October 29, 2023.
Born at home on December 12, 1935, in Holliston, Mass she was the daughter of the late Howard and Gladys (Ellis) Norcross.
Elsie was a graduate of Peters High School in Southboro where she was co-captain of the girls basketball team along with her best friend Patty (Moore) Harris. Elsie and Patty remained lifelong friends even after Patty married and moved to North Carolina, where she still lives today. After high school Elsie went to work for Angier Corporation. When she got married in 1956 and had children, she became a stay-at-home mom raising her own children as well as becoming a foster mother to numerous children who she loved and nurtured as if they were her own. In 1974 she entered back into the work world and was employed at R.E. Jarvis Company in Southboro until 1992. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling with friends and family and visited more than 30 countries during her travels. She was an avid Patriots fan and especially enjoyed cheering on Tom Brady. She also loved playing golf and gardening. She went golfing at St. Mark's golf course in Southboro whenever she could and also spent time tending to her yard and the beautiful flowers that she had planted around her home. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her the greatest joy of all.
Elsie was predeceased by sisters Elaine Rogers and Gail Jordan.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey Lilley and daughter-in-law Cindy; her daughter Cindy Girard and son-in-law Kevin; granddaughters Christine Rehlander and her husband Scott; Kathy Pancione and her husband Steve; grandsons Paul Lilley and Bobby Hartung and his wife Chelsea; and also, her six beautiful great-grandchildren Jackson and Madison Rehlander; Liam, Lilley and Haley Pancione and Oliver Hartung.
She also leaves a sister Priscilla Overgaard and brother-in-law Duane; a brother Stanley Norcross and sister-in-law Jan; in addition to several nieces and nephews who fondly called her Aunt Toots.
Elsie spent her final days at Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center in Northboro where she was well cared for by the attentive nurses and staff who made her time there as comfortable as possible. Our family thanks them all for their efforts with some extra special praise for Torres, who always made Elsie's day.
In keeping with Elsie's wishes, funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Morris-Johnston funeral home in Southboro. To leave words of condolence to the family please visit www.morrisjohnstonfh.com
