James Anketell, Jr. Obituary

James F. Anketell, Jr., 63, of Southborough, passed away suddenly in his home on September 9, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Barbara L. (Ward) Anketell for over 32 years. He was the oldest son of the late Ruth (McCann) and James F. Anketell, Sr.

Ank was a 1976 graduate of  Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough and attended Colorado State University in Ft Collins, CO.  He was the co-owner of JAC Design Services, a successful, high end window treatment and interior design company in the Boston, Metro West and Cape Cod area.

Ank was an avid skier and skied all over the USA, Canada and Europe. He loved music, concerts and most of all attending them with his son and daughter. He lived life to the fullest; was bigger than life with an infectious laugh and smile. He was truly one of a kind. 

He was a member of the Fayville Athletic Association , aka “The Club”. 

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Alex and Tess Anketell both of Southborough; his siblings, Mary Anketell Wilson and her husband David of Elizabethtown, PA; Susan Jablonski of Cary NC; David Anketell and his wife Maria of Las Cruces, NM; Mark Anketell and his wife Peggy of Hudson; Ruth Kuniholm and her husband Erik of Grafton; Beth Anketell of Holden; Carol Doucet and her husband Jim of MA; Sarah Frederick and her husband Steve of MA; his uncle, John Anketell and his wife Jane of Osterville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 14, from 4 to 7 pm at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday September 15,  at 10:30am at St Anne Church, 20 Boston Road, Southborough. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be sent in his memory to the Fayville Athletic Association,  either to the restoration fund or the scholarship fund, 6 Grove Street, Fayville, MA  01745.
