Janet Peterson

Janet (Picardi) Peterson, 76, of Natick passed away peacefully  on Thursday, September 16, 2021, after a number of years of declining health. She was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Belton) Picardi. 

Janet grew up in Wellesley, while spending memorable summers in Falmouth where she later landed her first job working for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. She excelled at Katharine Gibbs School and her desire and passion for education drove her to continue her own education while working full time. Janet graduated from Northeastern University, with a Bachelor of Science degree and from Babson College with a Master of Business Administration. She had a successful career beginning with an administrative position at Digital Equipment Corporation and advanced to accomplished management positions throughout her career through the DEC, Compaq and Hewlett Packard mergers.

Janet is survived by her son, William Peterson of Falmouth; her brother, William Picardi, her sister-in-law, Susan of Southborough; her nephew, Preston Picardi and his wife, Hillary and great nephew and niece, Logan and Ella Picardi.
 
Janet’s family would like to thank the residents and staff at Whitney Place in Natick for their friendship, care and compassion.
 
A graveside service to honor and remember Janet’s life will be held on Saturday, October 2, at 10 am at St. Joseph Cemetery, Gifford Street, Falmouth, MA.
