Vera May (Zwirnke) Dreger

August 3, 1931 ~ November 3, 2021 (age 90)

Vera May (Zwirnke) Dreger, 90, of Framingham and formerly of Bloomfield, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late William Dreger for over 69 years.

Vera was the daughter of the late Martha (Epding) and Carl Zwirnke and was an only child that excelled in school.  She graduated from Redford High School, class of 1948, two years early at the age of 16.  Vera went on to earn certifications in a variety of business applications from Burroughs Corporation which implemented in positions as a bookkeeper before she raised her children.  Her Christian education and church were valued throughout her life.

Vera treasured her home and garden and joyfully prepared everyone's favorite foods. Vacations to Traverse City, Michigan and family cruises around the world were among her favorite pastimes as well. She enjoyed playing Rumikub, Yahtzee and cards with family and friends, and challenged all to a fierce game of Scrabble.

Her husband, children, grandchildren and friends were of utmost importance to Vera and she surrounded them with her love, grace, pride and faith.  Bentley, her adored Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, also held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her beloved children, Mark Dreger and his wife Nadine; Gary Dreger; Debra George and her husband Bruce; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Brittany George and Michael Dreger.

The family will receive friends at a springtime memorial service at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, MI.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Vera's name to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 1100 Lone Pine Road, Bloomfield, MI  48302, or American Heart Association, would be appreciated.
